Central Control is the nerve centre of the Federation. Many rebels have tried and failed to destroy it, but they did not have Blake's resources. But all is not as it seems.
Blake has made contact with Kasabi, a resistance leader on Earth and the Liberator is speeding to Blake's home planet. Blake wants to make a telling strike against the Federation - he aims to destroy Control, the Federation's computer nerve centre.
But he's not being totally honest with the crew, knowing they'd be against the risks. Once he reveals his true plans he manages to persuade the crew to help him, even Avon. Avon knows that if they succeed, the resistance movements on Earth will need a leader, Blake, leaving Avon with the Liberator.
Before their arrival, Servalan and Travis are waiting. They catch Kasabi and her daughter, Veron, and by using drugs, they get Blake's arrival information. Using her mothers death as a threat, they force Kasabi's daughter to lead Blake's team into a trap.
Blake, Avon, Vila and Gan go to meet Veron in a rundown church, but she releases a Sono gas capsule, rendering them out cold. Gan manages to break the door down, and they escape, heading for the Control complex.
Central Control is held deep inside a concrete bunker, surrounded by sophisticated security systems. They manage to enter the complex, with Travis and his Mutiods hot on their heels.
After bypassing more traps, they come to the final door, which Vila manages to unlock. Blake rushes in to the room, to find it empty. Shock takes over and he sinks to his knees, just as Travis and the Mutiods enters, quickly disarming them.
Travis explained that Control was moved 30 years ago, but they used this bunker as a challenge to the Federation's enemies. They broadcasted this as the location, able to pick off their challengers one by one.
Just as Travis is about to kill Blake, Servalan enters, covered by Jenna and Veron. Jenna had been worried about the lack of contact and teleported to the surface, where she'd found Veron. They'd managed to locate Servalan and were using her to force Travis to release the crew.
As the crew run for the exit, Travis in his rage releases a Strontium grenade, a vastly overpowered bomb, which starts to bring the roof down. As a safety door begins to close, Gan rushes forward to hold it open, allowing the crew through. But as he's about to go through himself, the roof caves in, trapping him. Blake rushes back to help, but another roof fall kills Gan, leaving Blake holding him.
Blake rejoins the rest of the crew as they teleport to the Liberator and head out of the solar system.
