Travis, Servalan and the Liberator hightail it off to Goth, to find the brain-print of the last man who really did know the location of Star One.
After learning from Docholli that the location of Star One is kept by Lurgen, the Liberator is soon in orbit around the planet Goth, the last known location of Lurgen. Avon is now encouraging Blake to hunt down Star One, so that the rebellion can start with Blake as its leader... leaving Avon in control of the Liberator. Blake, Jenna and Vila teleport down to Goth to begin their search, although Avon is worried that Travis may already be there.

Due to numerous toxic gases on the planet's surface, they natives all live in caves, deep underground. But they do have regular patrols to the surface. It is one of these patrols that comes across the visitors from the Liberator, capturing Jenna and Vila, with Blake managing to teleport back to the Liberator.

Jenna and Vila are taken to meet Gola, the current ruler of Goth. Travis is already there, also looking for the location of Star One. Gola decides to keep Jenna as his own, and Vila as his Fool... which makes his current Fool very jealous. Travis reports to Servalan, who it also on the planet, that the Liberator and her crew are here. Travis tells her he knows the secret of Star One is kept by a royal person, either Goth or his sister, Tara, but he's not sure which one. He then sets out to leave Goth, he says to call for help to destroy the Liberator, but he really already knows where Star One really is and is heading for it immediatly.

Blake teleports down again, to try to rescue Jenna and Vila, but before he can enter the caves he comes across Rod, brother of Gola, and he believes the rightful leader of Goth. They sneak into the caves, entering via the dungeons. They are empty, apart from an old man who has been there years, who quickly hides. Jenna is investigating, and finds that Tara's amulet does not carry the brain pattern of Lurgen. She is soon playing chequers with Gola, who manages to beat Jenna. Servalan enters, claming Jenna let him win, and Vila appears to agree. Vila is dragged off to the dungeons, proclaiming his innocence, as the original Fool smirks from having thrown his voice.

Jenna is getting closer to Gola and finally gets to check his amulet... which is also blank. But she does manage to convince Gola that Vila was framed by the Fool, who is himself sent to the dungeons. Once there, he quickly finds the old man, telling him he used to be his Fool. Vila is taken back to the throne room, quickly followed by Blake and Rod. Rod and Gola start to fight, both claiming the throne for each other. Gola manages to kill Rod, but before he can celebrate, he himself is poisoned by Tara, who takes the throne for herself. She reveals the old man in the dungeons is Rod and Gola's father, and it is he who holds the information on Star One.

When the confront the old man, all his can say is Travis has taken the amulet with the location, and "A fool knows everything and nothing" before he dies. Blake repeats is, louder, and the Fool starts to recite a long ago learned phrase, revealing the location of Star One. Lurgen had planted the information in the Fool's brain keyed under a certain phrase. With the information, Blake, Jenna and Vila teleport back to the Liberator and set course for the new co-ordinates.
